If You Can See It…

Hey Boo!

Have you ever heard that phrase, ‘if you can see it, you can be it?’ Well, it’s not just some cutesy little phrase, it’s an actual fact. If you can’t see yourself with a better job, you won’t get one. If you can’t see yourself leaving him or her, you won’t leave them. Ultimately, if you can’t see yourself doing better in life then you will not do better in life! Why? Because change happens in your mind before it changes in your environment. This is a lesson that I had to learn. I struggled doing better for myself because I struggled to see better for myself. Things began to change for me when I made that change in my mind.

So, how do you get that change to happen in your mind? There are a few necessary components. First, you have to have a clear idea of what you want. Take a moment right now and ask yourself- What do I truly want in this moment? Be honest. Don’t judge it. What is it that you truly want? Your first response is usually the correct one *Prince Akeem thinks so too* Go ahead and write down what you truly want in life right now.

After you’ve defined what you want, the next necessary component is to believe that you are worthy of it. Do you believe that you are worthy of the thing that you desire most in life? Do you believe it’s possible for you? Can you see yourself achieving that goal or acquiring that thing that you desire? If you don’t believe that you are worthy of what your heart desires, I will be sharing content on my social media to help you recognize your worth and remove that wound. It has been very helpful for me on my healing journey and I periodically return to the information as reinforcement. Knowing your worth can help you remove the nagging thoughts that prevent you from visualizing the life that you desire, thus pushing your dream life or goal further and further away.

Let’s bring the goal back into focus with a nice visualization technique. A great way to visualize is to close your eyes and think of something with as much detail as you can. Project it in front of you as if you’re watching a movie. What do you want? What does it look like? Look at it from different angles. Can you see yourself with it/in it/ with it? If it’s a house, how is it decorated? How do you look? Can you see the joy on your face? Feel the excitement? What about your friends or loved ones? Are they there celebrating you? The goal is to create as much detail in your mind as possible. Let go of worries. Let go of logic and really see yourself in that moment. Feels great doesn’t it?

…Unless you’re like I was and had a difficult time visualizing. Once I identified what I wanted and realized that I am truly worthy of it, I still struggled with seeing myself with it. The only things that I could see were the things that I remembered, and that was no good. They were just memories of things that I had in the past, and that wasn’t what I wanted for myself. I didn’t want my old life, I wanted my new one! But all I could picture was my old car and my old house because those were the nicest things that I had.

So, I created some new things to visualize by looking at house listings on the internet (preferably the ones with video) I placed myself in every room and inmagined myself walking through the beautiful homes and properties. AI photos have also been very helpful. It allowed me to look at myself in different places, with different looks and has helped me visualize and create a vibration lifting, emersive experience for myself.

Well, that’s all I have for this week Boo. Remember that the things that you desire in alignment are things that belong to you. They are waiting for you to come and claim them.

If you can see it, you can be it.

P.S. * The Prince Akeem line is a reference to the movie Coming to America. In this particular scene, Prince Akeem was talking to his love interest who didn’t know he was a prince and also had a boyfriend. She expressed doubts in continuing her relationship with superficial Daryl and then attempted to backtrack to which Akeem responded, ‘the first response is usually the correct one.’ (Meaning to say that her initial thoughts to end her relationship with Daryl were correct because Akeem was secretly in love with her.)

Breaking Agreements

Hello Beautiful Souls!

I was saying my affirmations early one morning (I couldn’t sleep) and I came across one of the affirmations that I’d created based on the book, The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. It is a great book. If you haven’t read it, I think you should.

The affirmation that I was referring to is ‘I break all agreements that do not resonate with my calling or soul purpose.’ An agreement is a limiting belief that you have accepted as the truth. These agreements in many cases, prevent us from accomplishing our dreams and deepest desires. (For Example: I really want to be a singer, but I only have a one in a billion chance.)

An agreement can be made by accepting negative thoughts or statements as the truth. They could be your own negative thoughts based on unpleasurable experiences, or statements made by others. When these agreements are made, they continue to work against us subconsciously until they are broken. And as we go through life we pick up more and more agreements. All of these agreements that we collect as we go through life- from parents, teachers, coaches, classmates, relatives, churches, etc. The culmination of agreements over time can be quite paralyzing. If you’d like to break these agreements, follow these steps now!

Identify The Agreement

Whether the agreement is ‘I’ve always been clumsy’ because you remember falling down when you were four, or ‘you’ve never been as smart as the other kids’ from teachers or parents, this agreement can be broken. Ask yourself what limiting beliefs or agreements have your made that limit your success or hinder your happiness.

Once you’ve identified the agreement (or agreements) that you’ve accepted, go back in your mind to the route of it all. Get as close as you can to the origin of this feeling or agreement. Once you’ve found the earliest memory of this agreement, go to the next step.

Break it Down

When breaking down an agreement, be as thorough and as honest as you can.

Ask yourself questions like:

*Is there any truth to this agreement? (Per our example) Are you really clumsy? Or were you distracted by something that caused you to lose your balance and fall?

*Is this agreement still relevant? Sometimes we carry complexes and agreements that we created during childhood. (For example: developing a fear of public speaking because you had a lisp when you were eight years old.)

In most cases, the agreement is untrue. In the cases where there is truth to the agreement, there is surely a solution to it. Break down the situation in your mind and realize that there is always room for growth and you are not bound by your past or by the beliefs of others.

If you asked yourself the above questions, and feel that there may be some validity to the agreements that you wish to break, ask yourself this question:

Can the situation be remedied?

Is it possible that you could be more careful in the future and thus, ‘not be clumsy’ anymore? Look to see if there are classes that you can take, or research that you could do to educate yourself about the limiting belief/agreement that you’ve made.

Journal and Affirm

Once you’ve identified the agreement and applied the applicable steps, journal about it. Write as much as you need to about the agreement. What it is, how it makes you feel, whether or not it’s valid, and the steps that you are taking to improve yourself.

Break the Agreement by saying aloud: “I break the agreement of____________________________ . This no longer has any influence over my life.” Say the affirmation as often as you need, so that you believe it and program your mind to release that harmful belief.

You can also research or create affirmations to encourage new agreements that you’d like to place in your life instead.

Never underestimate the power of your mind! You can do anything you set your mind to do!

Show up for Yourself

How are you doing today?

I just wanted to take a moment to check on all the adults out there.

The wearers of many hats. The ones putting everything into everyone else but themselves.

I see you.

I see you being the stellar employee at work, the kids’ personal chef, the sounding board for your spouse. The “go to” friend or relative. You’re always there when they need you. You always show up and are present,, aware,, engaged,, attentive. You give 110% to the people you care about. But do you show up for yourself?

If you’re anything like I used to be, the answer is a resounding “NO.”

I had to learn to show up for myself. I started with prioritizing myself and I struggled with it at first. It felt wrong. I felt like I was being selfish. I was so used to putting myself on the back burner that basic self care felt like overindulgence.

I had to realize that self care is not wrong. It is vital and should be a daily occurrence. Even if it is a small thing, we must do something for ourselves every day.

Take a few minutes out of your day and invest in yourself. My intention each day is to spend half an hour enriching myself. Some days I reach and even exceed my goal and others…not so much. It happens. Fifteen minutes invested is better than no time at all…

Feel like you’re too busy to commit? Here are a few suggestions:

Set an alarm. If possible, wake up a few minutes earlier than the family to have a moment to yourself.

Fake sleep. This may sound silly, but when I was in a really controlling relationship, I used to wake up and be completely still for a while. I’d meditate and think positive thoughts before getting out of bed. Those positive thoughts really helped me through some rough days.

Go to the bathroom. Another strategy I learned during my last marriage. Going to the bathroom can give you a moment to gather yourself and take a few deep breaths. One of my favorites is three deep breaths. Inhale Peace. Exhale Love. It works in a pinch!

You Can Do ANYTHING!

Hello Beautiful Souls 💖

I won’t be before you long- as I’ve heard many men of the cloth say but it was never true. 🤣

I just want to take a few moments to encourage some and remind others of this undisputable fact:

You can do ANYTHING you set your mind to do.

That is an actual fact. Think about that. Understand it. You can literally do anything you set your mind to.. as soon as you take the limits off of yourself. Anything.

Because when you set your mind that means that you are locked in. You are diligent, and you are focused on this thing. You apply time and energy to this thing daily.

And when you do that- the roadblocks crumble.

The obstacles move, and you formulate a way to do that thing in your mind.

And then you go do it. Then, you come back to step one. You focus on something else. Set your mind on it and repeat the process over again.

You can do anything.

So…what are you gonna do?

Do it!

Hello beautiful souls…

It’s that time again. The dawning of a new year. I do sincerely hope that this year turns out to be everything you’d like it to be.

That being said, in order for this year to be different, dynamic, or special in any way- you have to do something different, dynamic and/or special. Good intentions (resolutions, dreams, affirmations) are just that until you pair these hopes and desires with action.

Nothing changes for us until we enact change. I firmly believe that when properly aligned, our desires are strong indicators of our purpose in life. Desires, dreams, and ideas that occur to us should not be taken lightly. That is literally your soul trying to lead you toward happiness and to your true self.

So if you have an idea-pursue it.

Write down any ideas you have, do your research to decide how to go about it and then immediately give yourself a realistic timeline/deadline to accomplish this. Get an accountability partner if need be but do not tell multiple people your idea. Even people who mean well can thwart or discourage a situation that they don’t understand.

**Not everyone will understand or even approve of what it is you need to do.

And they don’t need to.

What is needed is you. Your unique gift. Your perspective. Your skill.

Let’s denounce imposter syndrome. Let’s free ourselves from fear by understanding that what’s meant for us is for us and no one can take it. The only one who can steal our dream is us. That happens when we don’t take action.

So, beautiful souls- if there’s something you’ve been wanting to do or try…

Today, there is so much gratitude and joy in my heart as I see a painful cycle of my life coming to a close.

Over the past few much I have endured much. Some of it good, some…not so much, but I learned a lesson from every experience. And that, today is what I want to focus on.

It’s easy to feel good and be happy when things are going well. But it’s during those times of learning, unfamiliarity, and sometimes even betrayal that have the most growth and rewards come from them.

And during this time, is when I really learned how strong I am. I had been put in a strange and difficult position and there was no one to depend on but me. This is not to say, of course that no one was there for me. There were/are a few very special and very supportive people in my small circle that gave me words of encouragement and showed me kindness.

But when the rubber meets the road, if a person wants change, only they can do that for themselves. I had spent so much time doubting myself…I couldn’t do that anymore. I had to make something happen. There were people depending on me. I was depending on me.

I pulled myself together and started writing my goals down. I started meditating more, I wrote new affirmations and my confidence began to grow. I had no choice but to believe in myself.

It didn’t happen overnight, but things began to change. Once my perspective changed work got a bit easier and I saw the good in my situation.

And now I’m actually quite grateful for that betrayal because it set me free. It helped me see myself truly. I learned that I already am and have what I need.

I am complete within myself.

And so are you.

Confidence Challenge

Hi!!

I hope that everyone is happy, healthy, and abundant!

I don’t have much to say at this time. (I’m working quietly and manifesting things that I will speak on later.) but, what I did want to reiterate is the absolute power and importance of affirmations!

We are all divine souls encased in human bodies, right? Well, as human beings, we forget our purpose and mission in life as we become accustomed to earth and programmed by society. Things happen to us and we learn certain behaviors as a result. There’s not much we can do about the way we were raised. But as adults; we can fix this!

That is the beauty of technology! If you have a problem and are looking for a solution to it- you can easily find it by doing a little bit of research.

This being said; during the course of my life I had developed some very low self esteem. I felt unattractive, unworthy, and overall unsure of myself on multiple levels. I didn’t want to live the rest of my life this way; so I knew that I had to do something about it!

So I began my plan of action. I was practicing the law of attraction and things started to improve, but I needed more. I looked into hypnosis to clear my subconscious of negativity. That felt great! But I aspired to even greater levels.

I began saying affirmations. Make no mistake- I had been affirming the entire time but after a while; I needed affirmations more catered to the issues that I sought to improve. I researched and found some confidence affirmations. Now, this hit the spot!

I began to say them everyday. I modified some of the affirmations and made them my own. I only kept the affirmations that resonated with me. Now, I’m getting somewhere!

Right?

Well, somewhere isn’t quite there. I felt good, but truth be told; I wasn’t really getting out of the house much because of the pandemic.

I returned to social media. And that’s when I saw that I needed yet more work in the confidence department. I went to take a selfie and I completely froze. I had taken multiple selfies and could not find one that I deemed worthy of posting. I hated each one! I struggled with the sight of my own face.

I felt broken. I thought those affirmations were working! I thought to myself. How disappointed I was. But then I realized that with some lessons, there are tests. It’s pretty easy to say ‘I am beautiful’ in a room by myself. It was time to actually believe it.

So, I created a #ConfidenceChallenge for 45 days and began taking selfies everyday. Each day, I post a picture of myself along with an affirmation. As time went on, it became less difficult to find a picture of myself that I deemed acceptable. I even starting doing short videos (I didn’t really like my voice either).

And now, here it is 31 days later and I can see and feel the difference in the way that I view myself. It wasn’t all about looks- looks only get you so far- but I realize that as I practice all of this self care and self love, that I am able to speak my mind and look at myself instead of cringing.

I began the challenge on social media thinking that maybe it would catch on and make me famous…lol. It may still do that- who knows? But I realized that I’ve already gotten something valuable out of this experiment. I didn’t post any selfies hoping for likes. My aim was to validate myself. And I did that.

That; my friends, is priceless.
